We faced the reality of earthquake multiple times and had to cope with exquisite loss and pain. Based on the strong relationship between the damage caused by the earthquake and architecture/interior architecture, we, as Yaşar University Faculty of Architecture, organize an event series on Space, Design and Earthquake between 1-4 March 2021. A series of panels and workshops will be held within the scope of the event. Panel speakers include Assoc. Prof. Andrew Charleson who stands out for his book ‘seismic design for architects’, Kandilli Observatory and Science Committee, Turkey Earthquake Engineering National Committee and the National Earthquake Council member Prof. Dr. Mehmet Nuray Aydınoğlu. Ajda Zaim, Vice President of the Chamber of Interior Architects Ankara Branch, will contribute to our event with a seminar titled “Earthquake and Interior Architecture Approach”. Along with Bayraklı Municipality representatives, President of İZMİMOD Dr. İlker Kahraman, Chamber of Interior Architects Izmir Branch Chairman Burcu Yazgan Parlak, Chamber of Interior Architects Ankara Branch President Kasım Soner and Dr. Betül Bilge Özdamar will contribute to the interior architecture and earthquake related workshop by mentioning her studies on the subject.
