PROJECT DESCRIPTION / PROJE TANIMI

The project proposes a comprehensive adaptive reuse scenario for a former tobacco warehouse located in the harbor district of Izmir. From the general re-design of the ‘architecture’ of the building, to the specific interior design solutions for residential and artisan-commercial units, the project intends to address alternative regeneration models for a district with a consistent industrial past, by proposing the re-introduction of residential and production functions to revitalize the site and ensure its positive conservation.

Proje, İzmir’in liman bölgesinde yer alan eski tütün deposu için kapsamlı bir yeniden işlevlendirme senaryosu önermektedir. Yapının ‘mimarisinin’ genel yeniden tasarımından, konut ve esnaf-ticaret birimleri için özel iç tasarım çözümlerine kadar, proje, tutarlı bir endüstriyel geçmişe sahip bir bölge için alternatif dönüşüm modelleri önererek ele almayı amaçlamaktadır. Önerilerde bölgeyi canlandırmak ve olumlu bir şekilde korunmasını sağlamak için konut ve üretim fonksiyonlarının tanıtılması amaçlanmaktdır.
