PROJECT DESCRIPTION / PROJE TANIMI

The aim of the studio is to deliver knowledge, techniques and skills that enable students to design an architectural project made of timber. The studio focused on the technical aspects of such design process, with special emphases in functional performance of the buildings and the spatial and tectonic qualities of architectural spaces defined by timber. As a final project, students undertook the design of YU Faculty of Architecture building in timber.

Stüdyonun amacı, öğrencilerin ahşaptan yapılmış bir mimari proje tasarlamalarını sağlayacak bilgi, teknik ve becerileri kazandırmaktır. Stüdyo, binaların işlevsel performansına ve ahşap tarafından tanımlanan mimari alanların mekansal ve tektonik niteliklerine özel vurgu yaparak, bu tür tasarım sürecinin teknik yönlerine odaklandı. Öğrenciler final projesi olarak YU Mimarlık Fakültesi binasının ahşap tasarımını üstlendiler.
