The aim of the Architectural Design III Studio ARCH 3310 is to deliver knowledge, techniques, and skills that allow students to design an architectural project within the context of disaster prevention. This studio promotes the setting of designs where architecture has been driven by the ideas of both being inspired by natural forces and preventing-by-design the negative effects of natural disasters, such as earthquakes, floods, fires, and hurricanes.
This studio focuses on an architecture designed to prevent an earthquake to become a disaster. Students will engage in designing either a primary or secondary school in Bayrakli district in Izmir. To complete their projects, students must incorporate five key aspects: Safety (potential of public/private areas for safety areas & accessibility, emergency & escape routes), structure, including the implementation of seismic-resistant elements in the design and their effect on the design and functionality of the spaces, adaptability, including the concepts of temporality & emergency vs. permanent function, accessibility, including the notions of universal design and safety during an emergency, and material, including the implementation of safe materials and building construction techniques.
Mimari Tasarım III Stüdyosu ARCH 3310’un amacı, öğrencilerin afet önleme bağlamında bir mimari proje tasarlamasına olanak tanıyan bilgi, teknik ve becerileri kazandırmaktır. Bu stüdyo, mimarlığın hem doğal güçlerden ilham alma hem de deprem, sel, yangın ve kasırga gibi doğal afetlerin olumsuz etkilerini tasarım yoluyla önleme fikirleriyle yönlendirildiği tasarımların ortamını teşvik ediyor. Bu stüdyo, bir depremin felakete dönüşmesini önlemek için tasarlanmış bir mimariye odaklanıyor. Öğrenciler, İzmir’in Bayraklı ilçesinde ilk ve orta dereceli okul tasarımı yapacaklar. Öğrenciler projelerini tamamlamak için beş temel unsuru içermelidir: Güvenlik (güvenlik alanları ve erişilebilirlik, acil durum ve kaçış yolları için kamu/özel alanların potansiyeli), tasarımda sismik dirençli unsurların uygulanması ve bunların bina üzerindeki etkisi dahil yapı. mekanların tasarımı ve işlevselliği, geçicilik ve acil durum ile kalıcı işlev kavramları dahil olmak üzere uyarlanabilirlik, acil durumlarda evrensel tasarım ve güvenlik kavramları dahil erişilebilirlik ve güvenli malzemelerin ve bina yapım tekniklerinin uygulanması dahil malzeme.
