PROJECT DESCRIPTION / PROJE TANIMI

Ecological Building Systems is a course aiming to teach students alternative ways of building and especially building using natural materials and local resources. Through the semester students have been introduced to different biobased materials (earth, straw, hemp, timber, bamboo, wastes, mycelium…) and the construction techniques that make their usage possible. They have chosen a representative building using one of the materials they like and studied it to understand how the design team used this material and integrate it into the construction system. While making it they produced a set of documents (sections, 3D details..) representing the usage of this material in the building and how the building system chosen for the building is working.

Ekolojik Yapı Sistemleri, öğrencilere alternatif inşaat yöntemlerini ve özellikle doğal malzeme ve yerel kaynakları kullanarak inşa etmeyi öğretmeyi amaçlayan bir derstir. Dönem boyunca öğrencilere farklı biyobazlı malzemeler (toprak, saman, kenevir, kereste, bambu, atıklar, miselyum…) ve bunların kullanımını mümkün kılan yapım teknikleri tanıtılır. Öğrenciler, beğendikleri malzemelerden birini kullanarak temsili bir bina seçtiler ve tasarım ekibinin bu malzemeyi nasıl kullandığını ve inşaat sistemine nasıl entegre ettiğini anlamak için incelediler. Bunu yaparken, bu malzemenin binada kullanımını ve bina için seçilen bina sisteminin nasıl çalıştığını gösteren bir dizi belge (kesitler, 3D detaylar..) ürettiler.
