PROJECT DESCRIPTION / PROJE TANIMI
History and Theories of Architecture and Urbanism II is a compulsory course given in the third semester of the architectural curriculum. The main aim of the course is to examine the reasons for the emergence, evolution, and extinguishment of architectural styles of the early modern period—from the fifteenth century to the beginning of the twentieth century—under the light of space-wise and time-wise transformations. Within this scope, throughout the term, the students have designed twelve collage-works related to the architectural phases/styles such as the Renaissance, Baroque, Enlightenment, and Avant-garde. In this way, they have represented the theoretical contexts via the visual languages of the styles and emphasized the architectonic peculiarities of the tendencies evolving since the fifteenth century. In the midterm submission, the students have prepared presentation boards for detailed architectural analysis of the related historical phases in architecture.
Mimarlık ve Şehircilik Tarihi ve Teorileri II, mimarlık müfredatının üçüncü yarıyılında verilen zorunlu bir derstir. Dersin temel amacı, erken modern dönem mimari üsluplarının ortaya çıkış, evrim ve yok oluş nedenlerini 15. yüzyıldan 20. yüzyılın başlarına kadar mekansal ve zamansal dönüşümler ışığında incelemektir. Bu kapsamda dönem boyunca öğrenciler Rönesans, Barok, Aydınlanma, Avangard gibi mimari evrelere/üsluplara ilişkin on iki kolaj çalışması tasarlamışlardır. Bu şekilde, üslupların görsel dilleri aracılığıyla teorik bağlamları temsil etmişlerdir ve on beşinci yüzyıldan bu yana gelişen eğilimlerin mimari özelliklerini vurgulamışlardır. Ara sınav sunumunda öğrenciler, mimarideki ilgili tarihsel evrelerin detaylı mimari analizi için sunum panoları hazırlamışlardır.
