Folkart Towers: Effects of Urban Regeneration on Everyday Lives
Definition
The project consists of field research regarding the effects of urban regeneration on the everyday lives of the inhabitants in Salhane, Bayraklı. Fieldwork was carried out by means of semi-structured interviews with the users of Folkart Towers, their neighbouring slum area and commercial facilities. Results revealed that urban regeneration projects that are implemented without sufficient research on infrastructural, environmental and social aspects of the concerned area, may produce unexpected results, that have different effects on different user groups.
