PROJECT DESCRIPTION / PROJE TANIMI

The project proposes a comprehensive re-design strategy for the old mansion located in the historical district of Basmane (Izmir), by confirming the current functional program (commercial activities on the street level and hospitality spaces on the ground/mezzanine/first floor) and by carefully integrating original values of the building within the remodeling proposal. A variety of light-weight metal frames are gently introduced within the boundaries of each space with the aim of supporting all different functions while stressing  the intention to highlight original architectural features and ornaments characterizing the interiors of the mansion.

Proje, mevcut işlevsel programı (sokak seviyesinde ticari faaliyetler ve zemin/asma kat/birinci katta konaklama mekanları) koruyarak ve yapının özgün değerlerini yeni tasarıma entegre ederek tarihi Basmane (İzmir) semtinde bulunan eski konak yapısı için kapsamlı bir yeniden tasarım stratejisi önermektedir. Yeni tasarım önerisinde tüm mekanların sınırlarına giren hafif strüktürlü metal çerçevesel ögeler, konak yapısının özgün değerini öne çıkaran mimari özellikleri ve süslemeleri vurgularken,  farklı fonksiyonel kullanımları desteklemektedir.
