The aim of the studio is to have a critical approach to the existing spatial and educational organization of the design/ architecture schools, and to create a vision for the spatial environment of a “new generation school of architecture of the future”. The project area is the abandoned leather factory whose only exterior walls and columns stand today on Mürselpaşa Street in Basmane, İzmir. Considering the interaction between old and new, students are expected to redesign the existing building as a school of architecture and technology.
Stüdyonun amacı, tasarım/mimarlık okullarının mevcut mekânsal ve eğitimsel organizasyonuna eleştirel bir yaklaşım getirmek ve “geleceğin yeni nesil mimarlık okulu”nun mekânsal ortamı için bir vizyon oluşturmaktır. Proje alanı İzmir Basmane’de Mürselpaşa Caddesi üzerinde bugün sadece dış duvarları ve sütunları bulunan terk edilmiş deri fabrikasıdır. Eski ve yeni arasındaki etkileşimi göz önünde bulundurarak öğrencilerin mevcut binayı bir mimarlık ve teknoloji okulu olarak yeniden tasarlamaları beklenmektedir.
